For purchase of 160 acres of land from the United States of America, April 9th,1832 A.D. and the independence of the United States of America 56.This land IS SITUATED ON Danville Road South of Austinville, Decatur Corporate Limits.

There is a well established ornamental groundcover consisting of (vinca and ivy) and many very old English boxwoods. The cedars are very old and near the end of their life span. One priority is to preserve young cedars to replace the older ones. The cemetery is enclosed by an iron fence with a concrete base. The fence is in good shape and combined with the monuments represent very distinctive historical architectural features. The cemetery includes several box type tombs and substantial monuments. The grave arrangement fit the traditional east - west burial pattern of the period. The cemetery also possesses examples of familial cluster burials.
